The Monsoons have gotten a lot worse.
I walked through ankle deep water filled with what I am pretty sure is raw sewage. But that's India for you.
I am enjoying my third day of a five day weekend, as school is called off, due to the monsoons. Oh well.
I have had a pretty boring week, so there isn't much to report.
The Mumbai stuff means that I am trying to keep a low profile and am telling everyone who asks that I am Canadian. Oh well, we do these things to survive.

Aren't you glad you got your shots and meds? How are you? What do you do when there's no school? What does "boring" mean? Do you just stay home all day? Will you have to make up these days? So many questions, so little time.
The "true north, strong and free" can be home to all of us. It served Jane well when were traveling in South America in the 80's. Just one of the reasons why I have feelings of such fondness for Canada.
Don't you just ache for the day, though, when our foreign policies and the way we relate to the world we belong to will not put us in harm's way? What a world it would be we chose to join the community of nations and all saw us as sisters and brothers, as they do others. Maybe when you are my age...
Love,

Back then, boring meant sitting around letting my roommate talk at me. Now it means Animal Planet and when I move house again next week, well, I don't think I will be bored anymore. A lot of my students live up there.
I was pretty happy to be American. Between the election and the Mumbai bombings it was a pretty nice thing to be. But not anymore, again....
One reason I came out here was so that 100 Indian kids would have a positive memory of an American when India is the most powerful country in the world in fifty years. I know now though that India is a bit to schizo to be the next super power and the average person doesn't mind Americans. When they get to know us personally. :)
